A2 Pulley Protector Climbing Hold
A crimp pocket climbing hold that prevents a dangerous full crimp: fingers curled, knuckles stacked. If a climber is so stoked or terrified that they grip as hard as they can, they can cause chronic injuries to their hands. The four-finger long edge is hidden under a sloped roof. The wafer bottom is too wide for the thumb to grip.
All of the hold is slick except for the area around the edge, to make it unreasonable to grab the sloper or any other edge on the hold.
In order to create a simple, one piece mold while conserving silicone material, I built a tiered, hinged, mold box out of foam core.
