Benchmark has been my favorite client so far, a team of passionate climbers with a niche market for try-hard crusher boulder bros. This clientele’s specificity allowed me to explore an especially steep, competition-centric wall designs - a direction that these veteran clients already understood needs more lateral space than you would expect. This made the design feel particularly intelligent : not maximizing square footage, as much as huge swathes of steep angles!

In this vein of bigger is better, coordinating production all the way up to the ceiling was a satisfying task.

 Benchmark wall designs are unique in how their climbing walls flow into general seating. In the past they have been fairly straight and simple. I was excited to lead the design and production coordination of this basalt-inspired asymmetrical cascade of seating.
