Capital Climbing Gym
Capital Climbing was an enjoyably straightforward project. The client is very knowledgeable in climbing and production, as a climbing hold Shaper himself.
Easily on the same page, he approved my first 3D design and first color finish design. So, selfishly, this is my favorite project I’ve done ! There’s lots of space for climbers to hang out, no overly complicated constructibility issues, a solid distribution of shallow to steep angles (a Competition Wall, a cave, a prow, slab), and a countouring of space to make the gym look deeper than it is.

Production and installation was smooth, except for an unusual request to add extra padding in the leftmost wall (pictured below). In coordination with the Pad Shop Sewers, we created a small block of pad, smaller than done before. Now this process of producing tiny pads is more frequent.
