Midnight lightning is one of the most iconic boulder problems, a true test of a climber’s ability. Since 1978, climbers repeatedly draw chalk over the same lightning bolt that marks a big jump. In 2008, Corey Rich made a Photosynth virtual 3D model to immortalize a new way of exploring this boulder. This is all that remains of his deprecated work.
