Dancing Fossil
Wearable sculpture : cardboard, chicken wire, plywood, plaster, cellulose insulation, limestone dust
The Activated Anamorphs and Exploded Ensemble perform in the passageways of Brady's Bend Limestone Mine, hundreds of underground tunnels spanning millions of square feet. Limestone is sedimentary rock composed of skeletal fragments of marine organisms. I camouflage in seemingly infinite underground tunnels as a large fossil, computationally fit into the wall. The skin of my suit is made of limestone dust fallen from the walls around me. Later into the performance, a Gold Fairy magics me to life and I then lumber around spectators as an activated boulder.
